How it Works

Performances take place at specific verandahs within walking distance around the historic precinct of Evandale.

Attendees must first come to Festival HQ (9 High St, Evandale) to register and collect a program. Inside the program is a map showing the verandah locations and a schedule of the performances with event details.

Tickets

Tickets for the 2026 festival will be on sale soon!

Day tickets will be available for $25 adult/$20 concession. Weekend passes will be available for $45. Kids under 16 are free and students are eligible for concession prices.

We recommend pre-purchasing tickets online to avoid missing out and so you can jump the ticketing queue.

What to Bring

A cheerful, friendly attitude!

If the weather is warm, bring a hat and sunscreen as some viewing areas are in full sun. Also bring a refillable water bottle and make use of our free filling stations.

If showers are forecast, bring a raincoat and brolly – it’s spring in Tasmania and the show must go on!

Optional items include: folding camp chair, bicycle (to get from one verandah to another quicker), drum or percussion instrument (for drum circle).

What NOT to Bring

Covid, flu, RSV etc. If you’re feeling unwell please stay away. We’ll gladly issue you with a refund and hope you can make it along to the next festival.

This year we’ll again have a ‘wet area’ at main stage. Evandale is well served by two local pubs (including event sponsor Clarendon Arms). BYO alcohol is not permitted at Festival HQ or any of the verandahs.

Parking & Toilets

Free off-street parking is available at the Evandale Memorial Hall, 8 High St and at St Andrews Anglican Church next door (6 High St).

Free on-street parking is available along High St and other streets close to Festival HQ.

Disabled parking is available at Festival HQ, 9 High St, Evandale.

Public toilets, including disabled access, are available in Pioneer Park (close to Russell St entrance). A disabled access toilet is also available at Festival HQ

Food & Drinks

Devonshire teas will be available in the hall at Festival HQ. Food vans will be located in Russell St.

Food and drinks are also available in the village:

  • Prince of Wales Hotel
  • Clarendon Arms
  • Evandale Takeaway
  • Evandale General Store

Getting There and Around

With the Verandah Music Festival the village is the venue! Part of the experience is wandering the quaint streets, enjoying the spring gardens etc.

If you’d prefer to zip from one performance to another, you are welcome to bring a bicycle.

Most venues are wheelchair accessible, but many have grass or gravel surfaces. Feel free to contact us about particular requirements – we are here to help!

To get to Evandale please consider car pooling with friends or catching the free bus (particularly on Sunday, when the timetable to/from Launceston works well).

Dogs

Well behaved dogs (and owners!) are welcome. However, the following rules apply:

  • Dogs must be kept under effective control at all times
  • Verandah owners decide whether dogs are allowed onto their property – some are happy to have them, but some aren’t (so if you bring your dog you won’t have access to all peformances)
  • Dog owners are responsible for any harm or damage caused by their dog
  • BYO dog poo bags and use them!

Merchandise

A limited number of festival t-shirts will be available at the merchandise tent at Festival HQ. These feature the festival logo drawing (by local artist Peter Waddle) printed on organic cotton t-shirts in various colours. Childrens t-shirts will also be available.

CDs and merchandise provided by some festival performers will also be for sale at the merchandise tent.
